A sociocultural organization, BAYELSA Ijaw Community, Rivers State Chapter have joined millions of Nigerians in calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to confirm the appointment of the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC),Professor Nelson Brambaifa because of his towering successes recorded in less than six months in office, adding that he has performed beyond expectations.
Chairman of the Ijaw group, Chief OKOYA WARRI made the assertion while briefing the press in Port Harcourt recently. He attributed his success at the interventionist agency to sound leadership acumen since his days at the University of Port Harcourt, saying further that it is unimaginable the way he carried out people-oriented projects within a short period of time, thereby setting a record that is unparalleled.
“Under acting capacity, he has shown Nigerians that he can do more. It is on record that the present administration under Brambaifa has repaired and built more roads more than any other administration under acting capacity”, OKOYA maintained.
According to him, payments of outstanding debts owed contractors by other administrations had been cleared by the NDDC Acting boss,while Payments of arrears of tuition and maintenance fees owed students of the commission studying abroad,empowerment of women and youths and support for the indigent and those with disabilities were part of cardinal objectives.
OKOYA called on all people of goodwill to support the robust initiatives of the Acting MD,pointing out that his track record of infrastructural development of rendering assistance to humanity is second to none.
The Ijaw group further called on the Presidency to disregard critics who are shallow minded aimed at truncating the marvelous services of a dynamic performer.They warned those paper tigers and author of falsehood to desist forthwith from attacking the Acting MD, saying they are envious of his rising profile.
