“The Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes will collaborate with the Anti-Graft Agencies and Institutions in the Country to streamline their duties to make them more efficient in their operations”.

This statement was made by the Chairman of the Committee Sen. Suleiman Abdu Kwari in a message to the Quarterly Dialogue of the ICPC on the Accountability for Security Votes in the Country.

He stated that the Committee will not shy away from enacting further laws that will provide more clarity as it relates to the regulation of procedures for the expenditure of public funds no matter how it is couched in the Appropriation Act.

He also assured the ICPC and other stakeholders, that in carrying its oversight functions, sensitive issues that border in national interest, will be treated with the highest degree of confidentiality, so as not to jeopardize the nation’s National security.

The Chairman who was represented by the Vice Chairman of the Committee, Senator Aliyu Magatarkada Wamako, stated that on resumption of the Senate, the Committee on Aanti-Corruption will be engaging the anti-graft sector as well as Civil Society and the international Community on financial crimes.
